Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share with our readers that I will be street painting again at the Italian Street Painting Festival by Youth in Arts in San Rafael, California this June 14th -15th. This festival is special to me as they were good enough to give me my first chance to street paint in 2001 and I am very grateful for that opportunity.
Here are a series of some of my favorite street paintings from San Rafael that I have done or participated in during the years:
Anthony Cappetto original street painting in 2007; Photograph by Doug Carlton
Anthony Cappetto original street painting 'For Tom' from 2006
In 2005, I reproduced a street painting with multiple figures 'The Madonna della Gatta' by Fredrico Barocci. The original painting is in the Ufizzi Museum in Florence, Italy. Photo by Youth in Arts.
Here I am, taking a break...
A reproduction of a detail of "Head of the Virgin' by Leonardo da Vinci which I did in 2004.
In 2003, I was given the special opportunity to be able to work on the architectural team for the Sistine Chapel ceiling street painting with a group of the finest Madonnari artists. Here I am creating 'shells and acorns' elements along a curved corner (pendantive) by the 'David and Goliath' section. In 2007, I was able to actually do a 'David and Goliath' section for a different Sistine Chapel ceiling street painting - but that's a different story...
The work seemed to go on forever, but was definitely worth it.
As you can see, I was one of many hardworking, dedicated, street painters on a large, detailed project in which I will never forget what teamwork and commitment meant. I thank Youth in Arts for this opportunity.
Proudly posing with my second San Rafael street painting called 'Weekend at Central Park', an original piece based on my pastel on paper art interests of nightlife with architectural themes in 2002.
My very first completed street painting 'Salute' measuring 6' x 6' created especially for the street painting festival, solidly focusing on my 'Good Life' styled art. This was my first year particpating at San Rafael in 2001.
Here I am with the sponsors of the street painting art square from 2001 in which I created 'Salute'.
I wanted to share these experiences with the readers of 'Blog Now on streetpainting.tv' to see my interest and growth in the street painting art form. Looking forward to creating and growing with more art this year and hopefully for many years to come.
