Lorelle Miller sent Blog Now on streetpainting.tv some info and photos to share from a street painting event she recently participated in. The 9th Annual Chalk on the Walk in Tehachapi, CA took place on Saturday August 8, from 8am to 2pm. Proceeds benefited Tehachapi schools art programs with supplies, grants, and scholarships. The event was sponsored by Tehachapi Valley Arts Association and Main Street, Tehachapi.
Lorelle told Blog Now on streetpainting.tv..."The piece I did called 'Young Woman' by Bouguereau was 4’x 4’ in size and won Best of Show.
While in Tehachapi I did a short street painting demonstration at a place called Mama Hillybeans. I was a featured artist at the restaurant and exhibited a collection of my oil and pastel paintings. I did a portion of a street painting during my reception. The piece was called 'Boy and Rabbit after Sir Henry Raeburn'.
It was enjoyed by many of their patrons. I was dying to work to finish the whole piece, but the restaurant had to close for the night and I had to start another piece the following day. For a small event their was incredible press coverage and a lot of interest in the art form of street painting, so I totally enjoyed the experience."
