Part of the street painting competition at Festival Bella Via is a category called Qualificati Madonnari. These are artists who have won a place in previous competitions so they no longer compete in the entry category (Semplici), they compete with other Qualificati level artists. All of the work at this level is so very good...it must have been hard for the judges to agree on a winner. But they did and the winner is now given the title Maestro Madonnari, the highest title awarded. This is the first time a Mexican artist has been awarded this title at Festival Bella Via....and the winner is Adrian Monsivais Rosales, who street painted 'El Velorio', original by Jose Jara, 1889. Congratulations Adrian!
