Lorelle told us: "It was great to be a part of this young street painting festival. They had over 600 squares done by the end of the event. Most of them done by the community. There were several professional artists that worked on paintings as well as myself. It was great to meet the local artists and talk in our very own special language about art. The community was very responsive to this great art form.
I worked on this piece for about 22 hours and had a good sense of accomplishment when I was done. It was good to talk to the people surrounding my square, answering questions and taking in all the comments. One young man about 11 or 12 years old commented on how it is amazing that a piece of chalk can paint a horse or other amazing things. He was really taken by what he saw. I love that the young people get so turned on by this visual medium. It gives me hope for the future of visual art."
Thanks Lorelle for sharing your street painting work with us at Blog Now on streetpainting.tv and for inspiring young viewers with your art!
