Valentina told us "The Colours of Valkenburg took place last week 21 and 22 August in Valkenburg Holland, it was the 3rd edition. It was great, in a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There were artists from Holland, Germany, the UK, the USA, Mexico and a big delegation from Italy. The Italians (20 people, more or less a half of the participants) that were participating belong to the C.C.A.M. group of Curtatone, Italy. Also this year there were 2 categories of paintings: Free Art and Copy Art. The total amount of awards was 12 prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in both categories, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in audience vote and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize for painting that considered a touristic theme (these year was something like an anniversary of Valkenburg tourism)."
"Actually I can’t remember the 12 people that won the prizes, but I remember the 1st in each category: Copy Art – Melanie Stimmell; Free Art – Giovanni Seresini; Public Choice – Selica Trippini (my mother!). Actually 2 of them were double awarded cause my mom won the 1st price in public choice and also the 2nd prize in Copy Art, the same for Melanie cause she won the 1st prize in Copy Art and the 2nd in public choice, they really succeed!"

"It was really funny that exactly at the end of the prize giving it started raining, so we only had a few minutes to take some pics in front our paintings and in 30 min everything was washed away!"

"My personal experience about the festival was simply great because I had the possibility to spend nice time with my dear friend Adriana del Rocio, a Mexican streetpainter. At the beginning of October she went to Italy with her brother visiting me and for participating to the Grazie Festival, then we moved to Holland spending some days visiting the country and participating to the Valkenburg Festival. The Valkenburg experience was good for both of us cause we both won a 3rd prize, me in the tourism theme and she in the Free Art."

"The Holland atmosphere was so nice that we decided to stay longer and we traveled to Utrecht with some friends and we had a small demonstration of streetpainting in the city hall square of Utrecht. We spend 20 days together combining our vacations and our passion for streetpainting! The best vacation ever!"
