Anthony Cappetto poses with his 3D street painting 'Ice Fountain' for the Tempozan World Performance Festival in Osaka, Japan - 2010.
3D street painter Anthony Cappetto was the Special Guest at the 20th anniversary of the Tempozan World Performance Festival in Osaka, Japan, where Anthony was invited to create a 3D themed street painting in front of the beautiful Kaiyukan Aquarium (in background), designed by architect I.M. Pei.
Anthony decided to street paint a 3D water fountain shooting up out of ice blocks, with a king penguin and a sea lion, as they are animals featured in the aquarium. Anthony got a special tour of the aquarium and up close views of the animals to use as reference for his street painting.
The festival was lots of fun, with thousands of people stopping by and hundreds lining up daily to take their photos with Anthony's 'Ice Fountain' 3D street painting. The public posed at the top of the piece, like they were on top of the fountain.
Other than having lots of fun street painting at the festival, Anthony got to enjoy some night life in downtown Osaka.
The aquarium had a cool evening light show that Anthony got to check out too.
And of course Anthony got to sample many local eateries and loved them all.
His fellow performers were fun, friendly, and welcoming.
And the wrap party was a blast with lots of good food, beer, and saki.
After several days of street painting, a day trip to Kyoto was great to relax and check out some temples, shrines, and shopping.
Anthony sends a special thanks to the Tempozan staff, fellow performers, and especially his wonderful host for making this such a fun street painting trip!
