Hello from Blog Now on streetpainting.tv, we are happy to report that Lorelle Miller, a well known street painting artist has had a busy Spring sharing her street painting art in the USA and is currently sharing her art abroad in Norway.
Lorelle has just completed participating in the 25th Anniversary of the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival as an invited Guest Artist. The street painting - a reproduction of 'Joseph's Dream' was completed in three days time. The artwork measured eight by eight feet in size and it should be noted that Lorelle 'free handed' or drew the art without creating a gridded sketch of the work. This shows a high level of talent and command of figurative drawing.
The original piece is by Gaetano Gandolfi (ca. 1750), and she was sponsored by St. Mary's Seminary.
The I Madonnari festival is directed by Kathy Koury from the very beginning 25 years ago, and is considered the festival that brought the street painting art form to the United States. Many street painting festivals and street painting artists have been inspired by this important festival.
Norway
Currently Lorelle is particpating in an international street painting exhibition and educational program in Hamar, Norway. The exhibit, 'Art Exchange Between Continents' will be at the Gustavas Culture Factory from June 10, 2011 through June 24, 2011. She will be recreating a Masterwork made by a Norwegian national. Ms. Miller's host, Hilde Gustava, a multi-talented artist and instructor from Hamar, Norway. The Gustava Culture Factory offers educational classes in art, acting, sculpture, and stage directing.
