Last year over 20,000 people joined us at the Houston Via Colori® Street Painting Festival to witness gigantic chalk art murals transform the pavement into a live gallery. Via Colori is an annual event created to increase public access to art and to raise funds for deaf children.
This year’s Featured and Guest Artist line-up includes some of the nation’s top street painters, including:
· The Center for Hearing and Speech Featured Artist: Anat Ronen – Houston, TX
· Melanie Stimmell Van Latum – West Covina, CA
· Julio Jiminez - Los Angeles, CA
· Cuong Nguyen - San Francisco, CA
· Cynthia Kostylo - Carlsbad, CA
· Lysa Ashley - Inland Empire, CA
· Betty Dominguez - Coral Springs, FL
· Cecelia Linayao - San Diego, CA
With the largest turnout to date, Houston Via Colori 2010 raised over $320,000 and increased awareness of The Center for Hearing and Speech, a non-profit organization whose mission is to teach hearing-impaired children listening, speaking and literacy skills.
As always, our festival is free to the public and hits the streets on Saturday, November 19, and Sunday, November 20.
