Hello to our Blog Now on streetpainting.tv readers!
I just got back from a week of bringing the concepts of 3D chalk art to students and faculty at the Universidad de La Republica in Montevideo, Uruguay. The experience was great!
Here I am sitting on the stone bridge of my 3D chalk art demonstration piece that I did for our group exhibition. We're indoors as (for our northern hemisphere readers) its the closing of winter here and the temperature and the forecast for intermittent rain played a big factor in location.
I gave a lecture and hands on workshops to a very interested and talented group of students and faculty, eager to learn and grow their appreciation and experience in creating their 3D chalk art works.
Here are some examples of the first 3D chalk art works:
The students did a great job coming up with conceptual, engaging pieces with a small work size and shorter time to finish them! Lots more 3D chalk art from Uruguay to come!
Here are some photos interacting on my 3D chalk piece - Enjoy!
The class picture: Here we are interacting with the 3D chalk art - some (left) interacting more than others... :D! I had a great time working with everyone at the Universidad. A special thanks to the US Embassy in Montevideo, the Espacio Arte Contemporaneo, Infantozzi, and my friends at the Universidad de la Republica. Looking forward to coming back to Uruguay soon!
