Street painter Anthony Cappetto was asked to create a Holiday-themed street painting for the 'Making Merry in Berry Hill' holiday event in Nashville, TN.  His 8' x 18' piece took him 2 1/2 days to complete and was the centerpiece of the event!  The people of Berry Hill (a section of Nashville) really enjoyed watching him work as well as the finished 3D anamorphic street painting.

Bella Via - Viacrucis (Life of Christ) in Monterrey, Mexico

The Bella Via - Viacrucis (Life of Christ) exhibition took place in Monterrey, Mexico, during April 1 to 4, 2010.  In this exhibition, the theme of Christ's Life was drawn in chalk as street paintings by 21 madonnari (street painters) and illustrated by 5 paintings of religious art, including 3 from the Renaissance, one of the Bolognese school and one from the Baroque period.

El arte es una expresión fundamental que actua como estimulo a nuestros sentidos y se abre a las manifestaciones mas diversas.  En particular, el arte religioso y el arte sacro, aunque tienen diferencias significativas son conceptos muy unidos a lo largo del tiempo.  En el religioso las obras realizadas se subordinan a la fe, en cambio el sacro, es el religioso que ademas tiene un destino liturgico, es decir tiene que servir para el culto.

   

El tema del Via Crusis ha sidio representado por los mas diversos pintores y corrientes estilisticas.  En esta exhibition, es tomado y ejecutado en la tradicional tecnica de Pintura de Calle por 25 artistas madonnari, que ilustran la estetica de 5 pinturas de arte religioso, 3 de renacentistas, una de la escuela boloñesa y otra del periodo barroco.

 

Las cuales se realizaran del 1 al 4 de Abril del 2010 en la Explanada de los Heroes de la Macroplaza, frente al Palacio de Gobierno de 9:00 a 18:00 horas.

The exhibition will take place from April 1 to 4, 2010, in the Esplanade of Heroes in the Macroplaza, opposite the Governor's Palace from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
